Kristin Cavallari is breaking her silence on her ex-husband Jay Cutler’s arrest.
The “Very Cavallari” star, 37, spoke out in a Tuesday episode of her podcast “Let’s Be Honest” after Cutler was arrested for DUI and gun possession in Tennessee on Thursday.
In a message at the top of the show, Cavallari noted the episode was recorded before a “very public incident happened last week with my ex-husband,” which she then briefly addressed.
“I do, of course, wish Jay nothing but the best, and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs,” she said. “But that’s the only thing I will be saying about it publicly.”
Cutler, a former NFL quarterback, was arrested in Tennessee after a “minor traffic collision.” Police said he smelled strongly of alcohol and was slurring his words, and two handguns were found in his car. He was booked on one count of driving under the influence, one count of failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision, violation of implied consent law, and possession of a handgun while under the influence.

Cavallari and Cutler married in 2013 and announced their split in 2020. They share three children. Cutler was featured on his then-wife’s E! reality series “Very Cavallari,” which ran from 2018 to 2020.
In June, Cavallari shared in an episode of her podcast that she became “very thin” while filming “Very Cavallari” due to stress from her marriage.

“I’ll put it in perspective for you guys,” she said at the time. “I’m 5’3″. I currently weigh 114 pounds. Filming ‘Very Cavallari,’ I got down to 102, and I was eating the same amount of food that I’m eating now. The difference was, I was so unhappy and so stressed out.”
“I was skin and bones,” she added. “I think I look so much better now. And you guys, that was just stress. That was being in a really unhappy marriage, quite honestly. I mean, literally. I was so unhappy.”
When she announced her split from Cutler in 2020, Cavallari described it as “just the situation of two people growing apart.”
“With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce,” she said. “We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of.”
Earlier this year, Cavallari made headlines after revealing she had a new 24-year-old boyfriend, Mark Estes, sparking criticism of their 13-year age gap. In September, the “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” star shared that she and Estes had broken up. She later explained on her podcast that they split after she “started to feel” their age gap and differences in life experience.
“I look back (at) when I was 24 and how much life has happened for me in between then, and I mean, those are crucial years,” she said. “Those are formative years. This is when you find yourself. And he needs to be able to do that.”
During the portion of Tuesday’s podcast recorded prior to Cutler’s arrest, Cavallari discussed the topic of breakups and reflected that her “heart broke” when her marriage ended.
“Even though I’m the one that walked away, it was not what I wanted,” she said. “It was not what I had envisioned. And I really tried (expletive) everything I could. It’s just heartbreaking when you want something so badly, but you just can’t get there. I would say my heart was broken for years in my marriage.”
Cavallari also recalled that before the divorce, she “clenched” her “jaw for so many months,” and “as soon as I got out, it stopped.”
But she told listeners that she and Cutler are now in the “best place that we’ve been in,” adding, “It’s been four-and-a-half years, and it took four years, but things are really good with us now. … If I tell you that Jay and I can get there, anyone can get there.”
